LM Pruitt Promotional Event: Author Interview

Hello everyone! Today Comfort Books is participating in a Promotional Event for LM Pruitt author of the Jude Magdalyn Series and the Frankie Post Series and the Moon Series! So before I share the interview with her I'm going to share with you the first book in each series and the synopsis to go along with both!

Jude Magdalyn Series
Shades of Gray by LM Pruitt
Synopsis: Jude Magdalyn Henries lives what many would call an unconventional life.

Orphaned at birth, raised by nuns, a teenage runaway living on the streets... she now earns a living at odd jobs, including one as a fake tarot card reader. Very little about Jude's life appears normal, by any scale.

When she accepts a gig to do a private reading, unconventional takes on an entirely new meaning. Life as she knows it ends when she's thrust into a world she never knew existed-one filled with magic, vampires, and her beloved New Orleans on the verge of an underground war.

To make matters worse, she's got two men in her life vying for attention, Williams and Theo. Both call to a different part of her, but one scares her just a little bit.

Can she step up to the challenges set before her and make the right choices for the greatergreater good?

The Frankie Post Series:
Irish Rover by L.M. Pruitt
Synopsis: Cheating husband?

Call Frances "Frankie" Post, a private investigator with a trick or two up her sleeve.

In this flash fiction piece (approx. 1500 words) join Frankie as she spends the afternoon in Queens masquerading as a member of the "personal entertainment" business community. A note to cheating husbands - never use the joint checking account.

The Moon Series:
New Moon Rising by L.M. Pruitt
Synopsis: Nothing ever happens in Selene, Georgia. The biggest events in the past ten years have been a wedding, a funeral and a bar fight. It's slow, sleepy, a little narrow-minded--but for Cari Gravier, it's home.

Now things are starting to happen that nobody's seen before. Strange things in the woods, dead animals--and dead people. Cari's about to discover a whole new side to Selene. And a past that may come back to bite her...

Meet The Author:

L.M. Pruitt has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. A native of Florida with a love of New Orleans, she has the uncanny ability to find humor in most things and would probably kill a plastic plant. She is the author of the best-selling Jude Magdalyn series, the Moon Rising series, and the Frankie Post series. She is currently at work on the next Jude Magdalyn book, Shades of Blood. She makes her home in Florida with one two cats—one smart, the other an idiot.

You can find the author in the places below!

Interview:

P: What made you want to become an author?
LM: To be blunt, I have stories in my head--characters, their lives, their wants, their needs, and so on. Not all of them play out, some of them fade away like vague dreams. But some of them are more concrete-- and I've always felt other people should get the chance to expeience them with me.

P: What advice would you give to other aspiring authors?
LM: Write. By all means, read books on writing, go to conventions, take classes, do everything you can to improve your craft. But above everything else--write. None of the other things matter if you don't put them to use. So--write.

P: I think Tarot Card readers are pretty interesting and entertaining, What made you want to write about one?
LM: I didn't really have a specific reason. It just seemed like a very quintiseential New Orleans type of occupation, especially for someone who is more con artist than true believer. I tried to incorporate as much of the city's cultue into the books as possible and this is a very big part of the culture of New Orleans in general and the French Quarter specifically.

P: The name of my blog is "Comfort Books" so what is your favorite "Comfort" book?
LM: Anything Nora Roberts. Now if I want to have a good cry, I read Rememberance by Jude Deveraux. It always makes me weep.

P: How long did your characters live in your head before you put them on paper?
LM: Jude was work in progress--maybe two or three months. Cari and Frankie were pretty much born on a moments notice.

***Speed Round***
1. Pens or pencils? Pens
2. TV or Nature? Books
3. Chicken or Tacos? Chicken
4. E-books or Physical Books? Physical

I hope you all enjoyed the interview! Thanks so much L.M. for letting me interview you for today! =D
